138 new graduate teachers to boost education in Togdheer

Quality of education in northern Somali region of Togdheer is expected to get a
boost after 138 primary school teachers on Thursday wore their academic caps in
a graduation ceremony held at the University of Burao.
The teachers who have undergone EU funded two years of training are expected to
be deployed to all primary schools in the region to boost the quality of
education in the region.
The ceremony was attended by officials from the area regional administration,
ministry of education and civil society groups.
Speaking at the ceremony, Burao University Chancellor Saleban Dirir said such a
number of graduate teachers will be a boost to the education sector in the
region. He congratulated the new graduates.
