AU, Somalia forces gain more territories

Somali and African Union forces Friday took control
of Luq-jelow and Baar settlements, some 30km from central
Somali town of Beledweyne from Al-Shabaab group without
facing resistance from the militant fighters.

Ahmed Gurey told Bar-kulan they wrested control of these
settlements after militants fighters pulled out of them.
Gurey promised to continue pushing the militant group
until the entire regions comes under the government control.
This new development comes hours after armed militants
early on Friday morning stormed government and AMISOM base
in Beledweyne town sparking heavy fight.
The army
claimed it has killed at least 12 militants during the
fight, with reports of dead and injured militants being
taken to El-bur for treatments.
