During the
early course of the civil war in Somalia, the coastal communities of Mogadishu, Merka,
Brava, Gezira and Gandarshe, turned to the ocean as a sanctuary point.
The rescue operation namely their
evacuation by ships and boats bear a significant historical event that merits the
attention of the world historians.
While escaping from atrocities of civil
war in search for a safer place to relocate, many innocent civilians lost their life by
drowning and other causes such as starvation, degydration, stress induced heart attacks
and stroke. |
