Reports reaching us from the port town of Kismaayo town, the
provincial town of Lower Jubba region, say that two small
boats carrying weapons for the Islamists of Al-Shabab docked
at Buurgaabo port in the region.
Reports further say that the fighters of the group have
arrived the area with dozens of battle wagons and surrounded
the port before off-loading the arms.
Reliable source say that the two boats carried weapons,
medical supplies, tents and other equipment, it is not yet
clear where those boats came from despite some independent
source indicating that the two boats came from Yemen.
An eye-witness in Kismaayo town who declined to be named has
told Radio Gaalkacyo that he had seen dozens of lorries
being escorted by Al-Shabab fighters.
The witness has further mentioned that he had also seen the
spokesman of Al-Shabab in Lower Jubba region Shaykh Hasan
Yaqub on one of the vehicles followed the Lorries.
The small area was captured by Al-Shabab recently after
confrontations with their rival Islamists of Hisb Al-Islam
two months ago.
The move comes as Al-Shabab recently called to step their
Islamic administration in Somalia.
