Somali President H.E Sharif Sheikh Ahmed has toured all the military defense
positions that were liberated from the Al-Shabaab extremists group by the joint
TFG and AU troops in Mogadishu in the past weeks.
President Sharif was accompanied by the defense minister H.E Hussein Arab Isse,
heads of military, police and intelligence units in the five hour long visit
that saw the president tour all the vital bases seized by the national army.
Among the areas toured by the head of state include the Coca Cola factory,
Mogadishu University, Barakat cemetery as well as a new military base that the
national army have formed in the newly liberated areas.
The Somali head of state praised the Somali national army as well as AMISOM for
the commendable wok they have done and in eradicating the extremists group from
the last strongholds in Mogadishu.
Somali President added that a major offensive is also ongoing in the lower Juba
regions of Somalia and central Somalia.
The president toured all the forces defence positions at the same passed his
message of condolence to those that lost their lives in freeing the people of
Somalia.
The president said that the Al Qaeda and Al-Shabaab rein is over and called on
all the Somali people to assist the security forces in trouncing the extremists
from Somalia.
